A reliable recall is important. When you call him, your dog should react immediately. Even in the dog park: Your signal ends his romping. If your four-legged friend occasionally needs an extra invitation, reinforced training makes sense.

Learning a reliable recall is simple. At the beginning of the training, decide on a fixed command word. You can also recall your dog by his name. When calling his name, pay attention to a distinct tone of voice. The vocal tone used should clearly belong to the command. Always recall your dog with the same command word. Start training in situations with few distractions. Your dog must be able to reliably respond to your signal. Only recall your dog if he can reliably hear it. Loose sounds before the command word will make your dog perk up. If he is distracted, you will get his attention with it. Increase the degree of distraction and consistently practice the command. Your dog should always react immediately to the recall. Praise your four-legged friend extensively during training when it has worked.
