How can I better understand my dog?

Which word should you use for recall with your dog?

You can tell if your four-legged friend is communicating with you by observing them. Look at your dog as a whole. Observe their entire body. An excited wagging tail or alert, pricked-up ears are clear signals.

Not every sign your four-legged friend gives you is unambiguous. To understand your dog, you should learn their body language. They express their mood and needs through facial expressions and behavior. Your dog communicates with every part of their body and conveys a lot. Pay attention to your companion's signals and respond to them.

You also learn to correctly interpret dog language through trial and error. Your dog will show you if you've understood them. Being able to understand your dog tremendously strengthens your bond. It also helps you to react quickly to dangerous situations. If you practice this again and again, you will also become more confident in dealing with your dog over time.
