When should I start training my puppy?

Many dog owners ask themselves this question. The answer is clear: the sooner, the better! Start training your puppy as soon as he moves in with you. Early and regular training will quickly teach your puppy which behaviors are desired and which are not. It is important to teach your puppy to listen to your commands and to orient himself to you.

Socialization is an important point. Your puppy should be introduced early to different people, places, sounds, and other dogs. This way, he can build self-confidence and feel secure in various situations.

Another important goal of training is for your puppy to learn to behave appropriately in the house. Teach him where to sleep and where to do his business. Leash training and basic commands such as "sit" and "stay" should also be practiced.

However, it is important to conduct the training in a positive way. Refrain from punishing or loudly scolding your puppy if he has done something wrong. It is better to reward good behavior and use positive reinforcement methods. Praise your puppy for his good performance and reward him with petting or small treats. This is not only more effective but also promotes your puppy's positive development.
